OZONO: The New Eco-Friendly Cleaning Tech
OZONO is an eco-conscious brand that advocates for chemical-free cleaning solutions. The company recently launched its new invention, OZONO OZPro, a multi-purpose cleaning device. It is hypoallergenic, leaves no residue, and uses water and energy-saving technology to clean, disinfect, and remove odors.
The device is ideal for cleaning laundry, home surfaces, toilets, floors, baby’s clothes and toys, gym wear, and furbabies' bedding and towels. This innovation comes to fill the gaps left by conventional detergents. A study from HPCLive unveils that exposure to laundry detergent causes an increase in atopic conditions. Studies from Cleveland Clinic further clarify that detergents cause skin rashes in children.
Detergents also have environmental effects like contaminating our oceans, lakes, and rivers when their chemicals leach into water systems. Did you know that 1.5 million tonnes of microplastics from cleaning products infiltrate the global waterways annually? Euronews Green reported that detergent pods are the leading source of microplastic pollution. OZONO’s approach to providing chemical-free living is a step in the right direction.
California's Mountain Fire Torches 20,000 Acres in Ventura County
Residents of Ventura County, California woke up to a raging mountain fire that has caused havoc in their land. Thus far, the wildfire has torn through 20,000 acres and destroyed 132 structures in less than two days.
The inferno is growing exponentially and remains only 7% contained. The 30-foot-tall flames are propelled by the notorious Santa Ana winds. These warm, dry, and gusty winds have skyrocketed over the years because global warming has increased the earth’s temperatures making winds more vicious.
Residents are still left in awe, with numerous reported injuries from smoke inhalation and other minor ones. The County Sheriff James Fryhoff ordered mandatory evacuations as red flag warnings continued to surface. Power outages and school closures are among the spoils left behind
LG Innotek Launches the First Ever Eco-Friendly & HRE-Free Magnet
LG Innotek has pioneered a high-performance eco-friendly magnet, the first of its kind in the industry. It features the world’s strongest magnetic force, eliminating the use of rare heavy metals. Magnets are crucial for power-driven products and for a long time, HRE metals have been the key material to ensure they can sustain magnetic strength at high temperatures.
There is a limited supply of these metals as they are majorly sourced from a few countries. The mining processes also cause multiple negative environmental effects like water pollution, waste, acidification, damaging ecosystems, and human health risks. This invention will reduce the dependence on HRE metals, contributing to a sustainable magnet supply chain.
Cuba Recovers As Hurricane Rafael Proceeds to the Gulf of Mexico
Recovery is underway in Cuba after Hurricane Rafael struck the island, leaving a trail of disaster. The Category 3 hurricane is the first major storm in 39 years, now tied with Hurricane Kate, 1985, as the strongest storms ever recorded in the Gulf.
The locals were seen fighting very strong winds that at one point reached 150mph. Rafael collapsed the country’s entire power network, leaving 10 million people in darkness. More than 100 homes have been destroyed and over 283,000 people evacuated.
The increased number and intensity of hurricanes are caused by the warm ocean waters propelled by low wind shears, courtesy of the increased global temperatures. On Friday, Rafael proceeded west across the Gulf of Mexico, threatening the living conditions of the southern United States coastline.
Catastrophic Floods Reign Havoc in Valencia, Spain
Unprecedented floods have devastated Spain, leaving over 219 casualties and 93 missing. The torrential downpour has overflowed rivers and flooded dry canals leading to mass destruction. 36,605 people have since been rescued and the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez pledged 10.6 billion euros to help the victims.
Evidence of torrents of muddy water, wrecked infrastructure, and obliterated property remain as the flood’s aftermath. The government is throwing everything at it, as the newly deployed 7,800 military troops will team up with 4,256 National Police officers, 5,223 Civil Guard personnel, and thousands of volunteers to continue the recovery efforts.
These floods come after a two-year drought, whose record hot temperatures helped magnify the rains. Spain’s meteorological agency reported that 30.4 inches fell in an hour on 29 Oct, a new all-time national record for rainfall. This natural disaster is Europe’s worst flood-related disaster since 1967 when 500 people died in Portugal.
